Penn Avenue Eyewear and Most Wanted Fine Art are teaming up to support the eye health of local artists while giving back to charities that support artists and community. Penn Avenue Eyewear is an independent Pittsburgh based retailer committed to designing stylish prescription glasses and non-prescription sunglasses. Most Wanted Fine Art is a community service organization disguised as an art gallery. Friday September 12, 2014 6pm-10pm, 5430 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 (FORMER QUIET STORM)

 Together PAE and MWFA present an exhibit highlighting the works of 32 established artists that includes 15 pairs of hand customized artistic wooden sunglass frames. The frames will only be available through silent auction on Sept 12, 2014. All sales benefit the charities “Healthy Artists” and “Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation”.  In addition all the participating artists have been provided either a pair of PAE prescription glasses or sunglasses. The sunglasses up for auction are wooden sunglasses that have each been hand customized by an artist. Here is  a sample of what one pair of the blank wooden sunglasses look like.


The event is Hosted by Comedian Davon Magwood

with musical performances by, female Hip Hop artist Holly Hood,  Classic songstress Anqwenique Wingfield,

and Ricardo Iamurri who will be presenting, Mars is Underwater; A silent film he directed with a live score performance by Ricardo.

Since 2012, the Healthy Artists project has been educating artists and young adults across America on the critical issue of health care reform.  We’ve also mobilized artists to tell their stories and speak out for single-payer universal health care.  Our team of dedicated volunteers has created over 40 video documentaries and written interviews that are easy to access and available online for free.  We hold art exhibitions, community film screenings, educational forums, and workshops, often for standing-room-only audiences!
